A burn ban is currently in effect for the City of North Port. There is also a lawn watering restriction set by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD).
Honoring those that have served their country, Veterans Park is located adjacent to the North Port Public Library. The 1.6 acre park is home to a veterans memorial and a memorial dedicated to those that lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
