Parks & Recreation Master Plan

We are dedicated to fostering a vibrant and active community through thoughtful planning and strategic investments in North Port’s parks and recreation system. As part of our commitment to enriching the lives of residents through exceptional parks, facilities, and programs, this initiative will serve as a comprehensive 10-year roadmap to guide how we meet the evolving needs of both residents and visitors.

Guided by our mission to enhance quality of life by promoting wellness and creating memorable experiences, and our vision to be a leader in providing inclusive, socially rewarding, and environmentally responsible parks and recreation services, the department is inviting the community to help shape the future of play in North Port.

We are taking a data-driven and community-centered approach to understand current needs, address service gaps, and identify new opportunities. The resulting plan will reflect local values and priorities, ensuring that future enhancements support the health, wellness, and connectivity of our community.

Through surveys, stakeholder engagement, and public workshops, we are gathering valuable input from residents to inform a sustainable vision for North Port’s parks and recreation system. This vision will emphasize eco-tourism, accessibility, and long-term quality of life for generations to come.

Master Plan Community Survey

Be part of our Journey to the Future. We invite you to share your input through our Master Plan Community Survey. Whether you visit the parks daily or only occasionally, your feedback matters. This in-depth survey is designed to capture how you use our parks and facilities, what improvements you’d like to see, and what recreational opportunities are most important to you and your family.

Your responses will help identify priorities, highlight service gaps, and ensure the final Master Plan reflects the real needs of our community.
All North Port residents are invited and encouraged to participate. Survey will be available July 4 through Aug. 8, 2025.

Public Input Workshops

Join us in person to be part of the conversation! We’re hosting a series of open house style public workshops where you can learn more about the Parks & Recreation Master Plan and share your thoughts directly with our team.

These workshops are designed to be flexible. Stop by at any time during the scheduled window to explore interactive stations, review planning materials and speak with staff and consultants about the future of North Port’s parks and recreation system. You’ll have the opportunity to provide input on what’s working, what could be improved and what new ideas you’d like to see brought to life.

Your feedback will play a direct role in shaping priorities for park improvements, programming, trails, accessibility, and more. No registration is required.
