City Communications

The mission of the Communications Division is to serve as trusted and respected professionals who tell the City's story, engage the community and build civic pride.

The City of North Port and the North Port Police Department have earned the 2025 Certificate of Excellence in Government Communications from the Florida Municipal Communicators Association (FMCA), the only statewide communications accreditation for city governments and agencies. The Certificate of Excellence recognizes those local governments and agencies whose communications staff have established and are utilizing different tools, resources and technology to effectively and efficiently communicate with their residents.
