Sweetheart Ball creates a Magical Night to Remember

A little time together can create memories that last well beyond one evening. The City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department invites daughters and their fathers or other special role models to dress up, step away from their usual routines and share meaningful time together at the Sweetheart Ball.

The event will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the Morgan Family Community Center, 6207 W. Price Blvd. This year’s magic-inspired theme will add a sense of wonder to an evening focused on strengthening bonds and making daughters feel celebrated by the important people in their lives.

Guests can take a turn on the dance floor, create a magic-themed craft and pose together at the photo station for a keepsake from the night. Dinner and light refreshments will also be served, with dinner sponsored in part by Zio’s Twelve 21 Pizzeria.

“The Sweetheart Ball gives families a reason to pause and be fully present with one another,” said Recreation Manager Shelby Mendelson. “The dancing and activities make the evening fun, but the time spent laughing, talking and making a daughter feel special is what gives the event its meaning.”

From the first song to the final dance, each part of the Sweetheart Ball is designed to encourage connection. The greatest magic of the evening will be found in the shared moments guests carry home with them.
