Get your child signed up for camp!

Camps provide an unforgettable adventure while providing a safe environment for children to develop social, emotion and decision-making skills. Parks and Recreation offer a number of seasonal camps for children entering 1st grade to 8th grade.  For more information, call 941-429-7275(PARK), select option #4.

GMAC Summer Camp 2024

Discover the excitement of GMAC Summer Camp! Our secure and dynamic full-day program fosters personal growth, self-confidence and positive character traits through diverse activities in small and large group settings. 

GMAC Summer Camp will be in session from May 28, 2024 through Aug. 2, 2024 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Camp is designed for students in grades 1-5.  The cost per session is $85.

  • There will be no camp on May 27, June 19 and July 4.  
  • For parents/guardians who need it, summer camp extended care services are available for a $15/wk fee.
    • Morning extended care hours: 7-8:30 a.m.
    • Afternoon extended care hours: 4:30-6 p.m.
    • During extended care time, low-key, self-directed activities are available for campers.

Register your child(ren) in person at George Mullen Activity Center during normal hours of operation.

Youth Scholarship Program

A limited amount of funds is available from the Youth Scholarship Program to help families offset weekly camp fees. Please contact Parks & Recreation if you would like to apply for a scholarship or if you’d like to sponsor camp for a child! Funds are awarded based on eligibility criteria and are contingent upon donations received to the scholarship fund. Teen Xtreme Camp 2024

Experience the ultimate blend of day camp excitement and fun-filled activities in our Teen Camp program. Designed for older kids, this unique offering includes up to two activities per week, ensuring a summer of thrilling adventures.

Teen Xtreme Camp will be in session from May 28, 2024 through Aug. 2, 2024 from 8:45 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Camp is designed for students in grades 6-8. The cost per session is $100.

  • There will be no camp on May 27, June 19 and July 4.
  • For parents/guardians who need it, extended care services are available for a $15/wk additional fee.
    • Morning extended care hours: 7-8:45 a.m.
    • Afternoon extended care hours: 4:45-6 p.m.
    • During extended care time, low-key, self-directed activities are available for campers. 

As we await repairs to be completed at the Morgan Family Community Center Gymnasium, we have secured the use of the Heron Creek Middle School Gymnasium two days a week for our Teen Xtreme Campers. This will allow us to provide physical activities and programming in a climate controlled environment!

CIT Program

Participate in our Summer Day Camps Counselor-In-Training (C.I.T.) Program to develop leadership and communication skills. Our hands-on training is crafted to equip C.I.T.s with the skills and insight necessary for future roles within summer camps and is an excellent opportunity to earn volunteer hours. Applications open on Mar. 4 and close on April 26 (interviews to be scheduled prior to acceptance). Limited space available.

C.I.T. Program will be in session from May 28, 2024 through Aug. 2, 2024 from 8:45 a.m.-4:45 p.m.  There will be no program on June 19 and July 4. This program is designed for students in grades 9-12 and has a cost of $25 per week.

Beginning March 4, 2024, registration is available in-person at the Morgan Family Community Center - 6207 West Price Blvd. or the George Mullen Activity Center - 1602 Kramer Way. Registration will close on April 26, 2024.  Please bring your completed registration form with you.

2023-2024 Winter Camp

Get your child signed up for Winter Camp

Join us for an unforgettable winter adventure at our annual Parks & Recreation Winter Camp! Our camp offers safe and engaging activities designed for children and teens from first through eighth grade, providing positive and life-changing experiences and opportunities to form new friendships. 

The first session will be available from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 26-29, 2023. A second session will be offered at the same time from Jan. 2-5, 2024. There is no camp on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. The cost per session is $80. For parents/guardians who need it, winter break camp extended care services are available for a small additional fee. 

Beginning Oct. 2, 2023, registration is available in-person at the Morgan Family Community Center - 6207 West Price Blvd. or the George Mullen Activity Center - 1602 Kramer Way.
