The City of North Port's Natural Resources Division is kicking off a quarterly tree giveaway program, with the first giveaway honoring Florida Arbor Day.

Trees play a vital role in the health and sustainability of our City. They help sequester carbon from the atmosphere, improve air quality, stabilize and protect stormwater system banks and provide essential habitat for wildlife. In addition, trees offer significant physical and psychological benefits to residents and contribute to the overall health, safety and welfare of the City, both now and for future generations.

This tree‑planting initiative is intended to expand canopy coverage on private property, extending beyond areas where the City is able to plant directly. By partnering with residents, the City can increase the long‑term environmental benefits of a healthy and resilient urban forest. Accepting a tree from this event reflects your commitment to planting it in our community and supporting its growth over time.
