The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin construction in early 2026 on interchange improvements at I-75 and Toledo Blade Boulevard (Exit 179) and I-75 and Sumter Boulevard (Exit 182). The project will add new signals and lighting, and widen the northbound I-75 on-ramp at both interchanges.

During construction, drivers should expect nighttime lane closures on the I-75 ramps between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., and occasional full ramp closures between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. On Sumter Boulevard and Toledo Blade Boulevard, single-lane closures may occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with double-lane closures possible from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

At the Toledo Blade interchange, improvements include new traffic signals at both ramp connections, controlled pedestrian crosswalks, intersection lighting, a free-flow northbound I-75 on-ramp from southbound Toledo Blade, and two continuous northbound lanes through the interchange. At the Sumter Boulevard interchange, the project will add new signals, controlled pedestrian crosswalks, intersection lighting, a free-flow northbound I-75 on-ramp from southbound Sumter, and dual left-turn lanes from northbound Sumter onto northbound I-75.
