The Tampa Bay Coastal Master Plan is the first regional flooding adaptation plan in the state of Florida, covering communities from Citrus to Sarasota County led by the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council and partners.
The goal of the plan is to enhance regional resilience by addressing flooding impacts through a coordinated, data driven and community-based planning process. Over the course of this four-year initiative, the plan is identifying flood vulnerable areas, prioritizing restoration and flood reduction projects, and helping guide long term adaptation strategies.
As part of this work, they have been engaging communities across the region through events and presentations and training local partners to help lead Flood Listening Sessions. These sessions are designed to share more information about the TBCMP while also capturing community lived experiences and observations related to chronic flooding from rainfall, sea level rise, tidal influences and storm surge. Join us in discussion on the topic of flooding in your community to be utilized in the Tampa Bay Coastal Master Plan. Advance registration is required. Please register online for this event! Participants in the Listening Session will receive a $15 Walmart Gift Card and food and drinks will be provided during the session.
