A burn ban is currently in effect for the City of North Port. There is also a lawn watering restriction set by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD).

Looking for the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day while keeping the kids entertained? The North Port Parks & Recreation Department invites children in kindergarten through fifth grade to Kids Night Out on Friday, Feb. 14, from 5-8:30 p.m. at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way.
This exciting event offers an evening of fun and engaging activities, including games, Valentine’s Day-themed crafts, and more. Kids will also enjoy a light dinner and a sweet dessert as part of the festivities. While children enjoy a safe and supervised evening of entertainment, parents can take the opportunity to relax, enjoy a date night or simply tackle their to-do list.
Registration is required and spots are limited, so families are encouraged to sign up early at NorthPortFL.gov/Registration. There is a fee of $15 per child, which includes all activities, dinner and materials.
