City of North Port announces Egg Hunt Egg-travaganza on March 21
Published on February 17, 2026
The City of North Port invites families to celebrate spring at the annual Egg Hunt Egg-travaganza on Saturday, March 21. This evening event features two age-based egg hunts, inclusive programming, and family-friendly activities for the community.
Children ages 3–7 will begin their hunt at 6 p.m., followed by a second hunt for ages 8–12 at 8:15 p.m. Participants need to bring a flashlight or head lamps for the later hunt and a basket to both to collect their eggs.
During the hunt for children ages 3–7, an Adaptive Egg Hunt will be offered in collaboration with Loveland Center. This inclusive experience is open to children of all ages with special needs and is designed to provide a welcoming, sensory-friendly environment. The Adaptive Egg Hunt features specially designed eggs and accommodations that allow participants to hunt at a comfortable pace.
All events include an opportunity for egg hunters to find a special surprise in one of the eggs! Children who discover an egg containing a golden ticket can redeem it for a bountiful Bunny Basket. Coloring contest winners will also receive festive prize baskets, which may be redeemed at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way.
Before the hunt begins, families can strike a pose with the Easter Bunny, show off their creativity in the coloring contest, enjoy classic yard games, and grab a bite to eat from food trucks, which will be available for purchase beginning at 5 p.m., as the countdown to egg hunting begins.
Community Involvement Want to help make this an eggs-tra special hunt for the kids? North Port Parks & Recreation is accepting donations of pre-filled, gender-neutral baskets through March 13. If you’re interested in donating, please drop off baskets at the George Mullen Activity Center, during regular hours of operation.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with event setup, hiding eggs, and cleaning up. If you’d like to volunteer or sponsor the event, please reach out to Curtis Champion, Recreation Supervisor, at CChampion@NorthPortFL.gov
