Movies on the Green brings free outdoor film nights to City Center
Published on January 13, 2026
North Port Parks & Recreation invites the community to enjoy Movies on the Green, a free outdoor movie series hosted at City Center Front Green, located at 4970 City Hall Blvd. This family-friendly experience transforms the lawn into an open-air theater, offering a relaxed way to spend an evening outdoors with friends and neighbors.
Guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket and settle in as the sun sets and the movie begins. Seating opens one hour before sunset, allowing attendees time to choose the perfect viewing spot. Food trucks will be on site offering dinner, snacks, and beverages for purchase throughout the evening. The Movies on the Green lineup includes a mix of recent favorites and a community-selected title:
- The series kicks off on Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. with Mufasa: The Lion King (2024).
- On Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m., audiences can enjoy How to Train Your Dragon (2025).
- The final showing takes place March 27 at 7:45 p.m. and will feature a People’s Choice selection. Residents are invited to cast their vote in advance using the online ballot.
Movies on the Green is free to attend and designed for all ages. In addition to the movie experience, the first 50 children will receive a goodie bag with an activity book, and yard games will be available for all attendees to enjoy before the show begins. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, bring comfortable seating and enjoy an evening of entertainment in the heart of City Center.
