NORTH PORT, FL - North Port Fire Rescue is maintaining its ISO Class 1 rating, the highest classification possible, placing it among the top 1 percent of rated fire rescue agencies nationwide.

The department recently hosted a site visit and a comprehensive ISO evaluation of its firefighting capabilities, resulting in an updated ISO Public Protection Classification of 1/1Y.

North Port Fire Rescue earned its initial ISO Class 1 rating in 2014. The rating is re-evaluated every five years. It not only provides a valuable benchmark for North Port Fire Rescue, but it can result in lower insurance rates for North Port property owners.

"This achievement reflects the department’s continued commitment to providing exceptional fire protection services to the residents and visitors of the City of North Port," said North Port Fire Chief Scott Titus. "Thank you to the men and women of North Port Fire Rescue for helping us reach the highest standards of excellence every day."
