Ready, set, register! The Gulf Coast Games are calling all competitors

The North Port Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with Sarasota County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources, invites adults aged 50 and older to participate in the Gulf Coast Games for Life, a multi-sport event leading to the Florida Senior Games in December.

The North Port Parks & Recreation Department will host the following competitions:

Rockin’ Run & Roll 5K Kick off the events with the Rockin’ Run & Roll 5K on Jan. 18, 2025, at 8 a.m. at the Morgan Family Community Center. This exciting race will provide an opportunity for participants to showcase their skills, and the top three finishers will qualify for the State competition.

Bag Toss Competition Next, join us for the Bag Toss (Cornhole) Competition on Feb. 14, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the George Mullen Activity Center. Participants will have a chance to compete for top honors, with the top three finishers qualifying for the State competition.

Archery On Feb. 15, 2025, at 10 a.m., the George Mullen Activity Center will host the archery competition, providing a unique opportunity for seniors to showcase their archery skills and compete for recognition.
