Beginning Monday, March 18, traffic signal installation at the North Port High School and Heron Creek Middle School entrances on Price Boulevard will commence. Construction will inevitably partially occur while schools are in session, but efforts will be made to decrease impact during pick-up and drop-off times.

The schools and the Department of Public Works are working together to maintain minimal disruption to their operations, and recurring meetings will ensure organization and constant communication. The project is anticipated to be completed in June 2024.

The North Port Police Department will conduct high-visibility patrols during construction time to ensure the safety of everyone on and off the roads.

We know you may be wondering - why now? The project was originally slated to begin in June 2024, but the contractor requested to start in March due to project constraints and prioritization. All parties agreed to this change.

Please practice extra care and caution while traveling in the area.
