Where you can achieve anything

Conveniently located close to City Hall at 1602 Kramer Way, the George Mullen Activity Center (commonly referred to as GMAC) opened in 1998. A 12,500 sq. ft. community center, it's is named after former Commissioner, George D. Mullen. The facility offers a gymnasium with multi-purpose flooring & stage, fitness center, meeting rooms and a kitchen. Out front, patrons can find a playground and sand volleyball court. Just behind the facility is the Larry Thoennissen Athletic Fields.

Please note that the George Mullen Activity Center follows special hours for summer/winter camp while school is out. The fitness center and other amenities will be closed to the public while camp is in session. For more information, please call us at 941-429-PARK(7275).

Hours of operation

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

Unattended children policy

Children under the age of 11 years old must be supervised by a parent or guardian at the Morgan, Mullen, Aquatic, and Extreme Park facilities unless they are enrolled in a specific program/class. Children age 11 and up, or entering 6th grade, must have a Achieve Anything membership or pay the daily fee for access to the teen lounge and game room at the Morgan Family Community Center, or for open gym.

For the Fitness Centers, the minimum age is 16 years. Children ages 13-15 can use the Fitness Center if accompanied by a parent or upon successful completion of Fit Teen University.
