Pumpkin Plunge brings a floating patch to North Port Aquatic Center

Pumpkin picking comes with a splash at the North Port Aquatic Center. The City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department invites families to experience a fall tradition made for Florida during Pumpkin Plunge from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the North Port Aquatic Center, 6205 W. Price Blvd.
Instead of walking through rows of pumpkins, children can wade or swim through a one-of-a-kind floating patch. Pumpkins will bob across the water as participants search for the one they want to take home. Whether they choose the biggest pumpkin, the roundest one or one with a little extra character, making the perfect pick is part of the experience.
After selecting a pumpkin, children can head to a poolside art station and make it their own. Pumpkins and decorating materials are included, giving each participant everything needed to create a fall keepsake without families having to bring supplies.
The fun continues around the pool deck with themed games that keep children moving and music that invites everyone to dance. Families can also gather at the harvest-themed photo station to capture the smiles and shared moments that make Pumpkin Plunge a tradition worth remembering.
“Pumpkin Plunge turns a familiar fall activity into an experience families can only find at the North Port Aquatic Center,” said Devón Poulos, Aquatics Manager for the City of North Port. “Children get the excitement of choosing and decorating their own pumpkin while families spend time together and create memories in a setting that feels uniquely Florida.”
The event is open to children of all ages. Children younger than 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Admission is $15 per child and includes one supervising adult. Registered children may remain at the water park after the event at no additional cost. Accompanying adults who wish to stay may purchase daily admission.
Registration is required. To register or learn more, visit NorthPortFL.gov/PumpkinPlunge.
