City Manager Jerome Fletcher presented an overview of the budget cycle at the March 13 Commission Workshop. Some highlights included applying DOGE to our budget, considering budget reductions and looking for ways to fund capital improvement projects.

As North Port's budget season continues, transparency will remain at the forefront. There are several opportunities to learn more and make your voice heard.

Visit the new Budget Input Hub to learn more about the budget, view upcoming meetings and sign up for updates. There's also a budget tool where participants can must allocate $100 into the categories that mean most to them. These results will be shared with City Commissioners and staff as they continue working through the budget process.

Residents are also invited to the Eat & Greet Budget Input event on May 12 at 6 p.m. at the Morgan Family Community Center, 6207 W. Price Blvd. This event provides an opportunity to speak directly to City representatives about the upcoming Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget. Local restaurants will be there dishing up some great fare.

There are several other options for residents to get involved and learn more:

Budget Workshops: The City Commission Budget Workshops will be held this summer before a budget is adopted this fall. Public comment and participation are always welcome. Comments can be submitted via voicemail, email or in person.

Performance Dashboards: View performance dashboards for various City Departments to track their progress toward their goals.
