Mark your calendars for two egg-straordinary hunts, and make sure to check out all the details at NorthPortFL.gov/EggHunt.
Flashlight Egg Hunt The Flashlight Egg Hunt kicks off on April 11 at 8:15 p.m. at the City Center Front Green, 4970 City Hall Blvd. This thrilling hunt is designed for children aged 7 to 12. Eggs will be hidden in hay throughout the area, and the hunt is sure to go fast, so don’t be late! Participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight and a basket to collect their eggs. Children will be divided into three age groups:
- 7-8 years old
- 9-10 years old
- 11-12 years old
Eggnormous Egg Hunt
On April 12, the Eggnormous Egg Hunt will take place for children ages 3 to 9. Starting at 10 a.m. at City Center Front Green, 4970 City Hall Blvd., this free event promises to be a hopping good time for the whole family. The Bunny will lead the countdown for each age group, with staggered start times. Be sure to bring your basket to scoop up all the eggs you can find! Participants will be divided into three age groups:
- 3-4 years old
- 5-6 years old
- 7-9 years old
In collaboration with the Loveland Center, an Adaptive Egg Hunt will also be available for children with special needs. This section will feature sensory eggs and other accommodations to ensure a fun and accessible experience for everyone, with the option to hunt at a comfortable pace.
Both events offer an opportunity for you to snap a photo with the Easter Bunny before and after the hunts! Plus, special surprises await – children who discover an egg with a golden ticket inside can redeem it for a bountiful Bunny Basket! The fun doesn’t stop there – kids can also enter our coloring page contest, with winners receiving a delightful basket as well! And to keep the springtime fun hopping, kids can bounce to their hearts' content in one of the festive bounce houses provided by Do The Happy Bounce.
Community involvement and sponsorships
Want to help make this an egg-stra special hunt for the kids? North Port Parks & Recreation is accepting donations of pre-filled, gender-neutral baskets through April 4. If you’re interested in donating, please drop off baskets at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way, during regular hours of operation.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with event setup, hiding eggs, and cleanup. If you’d like to volunteer or sponsor the event, please reach out to Curtis Champion, Recreation Supervisor, at CChampion@NorthPortFL.gov.
