UPDATE: The precautionary boil water notice was lifted Feb. 18. The water has been tested and is safe for consumption.

An unexpected main break at Pan American Blvd. and S. Biscayne Drive has resulted in a temporary interruption of water service this morning. Due to the break, Pan American Blvd. is closed from Safford Terrace to S. Biscayne Drive.
Utilities crews are on scene working to restore service. It is anticipated that the repair will take approximately four hours to complete and service should be restored by 1 p.m.
After water service is resumed a boil water advisory will be in effect as a precaution. It is advised that all water used for consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. As an alternative, bottled water may be used. Affected residences will need to continue boiling water for consumption until they receive a “Rescission of the Boil Water Notice” doorknocker when the advisory has been lifted.
