Our program

From six months of age to the golden years of life, the North Port Aquatic Center offers swim classes to fit your needs. Our qualified instructors are certified by the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Lessons will provide water safety skills to parents with infants and proficiency of swim techniques from beginner to advanced levels. Classes will also teach basic water safety skills to include proper life jacket usage and boating awareness to keep your family safe in, on and around the water. Classes MUST have a minimum of three participants to run.

Register online for classes listed below or call the North Port Aquatic Center at 941-429-PARK(7275) for assistance. Fee for the session is $40 for residents, $45 for non-residents. We have also established a recreation scholarship fund to help North Port youth who do not have the financial means to participate in recreation programs such as swimming lessons. Qualifying residents can also apply for the scholarship program online.

Each session consists of six thirty minute classes. Each class requires a minimum of three participants to run.  Personalized swim lessons and Float4Life classes are scheduled on an individual basis. Levels

The North Port Aquatic Center is proud to offer a variety of class levels. Please note, each of the classes listed below have multiple levels to accommodate swimmers of any skill level. Level one is for non-swimmers, while level four at the other end of the scale is for advanced swimmers. Levels can take time to complete and it may require a few sessions before the student gains the proficiency and strength necessary to advance. New students registering for advanced classes must demonstrate proficiency prior to registration. A skills evaluation is required for all children registering in any level higher than Level 1 in their age group. Parent and Child Classes

In this course, parents will learn how to introduce their little ones to water with a focus on water safety and assisting parents in growing tier comfort level in, on, and around the water. The program begins with children as young as six months of age through 2 years.

Preschool

Perfect for helping your child grow their independent water skills and water safety knowledge. Each level will build upon the last preparing for entry into the more advanced Learn to Swim levels. Core components include safe entries, moving in the water, and floating. For children 3 to 6 years of age.

Learn to Swim Levels

Students will build individual skills to move proficiently in the water, develop strokes, rhythmic breathing, entries and diving. Level 1 begins with the basics and students will advance once the core competencies are met. All levels include additional training on water safety.

Adult Swim

Adults are welcome to work at their own pace and become comfortable in, on, or around the water. Our certified instructors will work with each student based on their needs.

Adult Stroke Refining Class

Improve your stroke and movement through the water! Learn the importance of proper breathing methods, timing, and body position.

Adult Fitness Swimmer

Needing to spice up your water fitness routine? Our coaches will provide you with tips and tricks to finesse your fitness.
