Tricia Wisner has been named Utilities Director for the City of North Port after serving in an interim role since May 2025. Wisner joined the Parks & Recreation team in 2017 after working in operations at Sarasota County for six years. She played a leading role in major City projects, including the North Port Aquatic Center and the Boundless Adventures Playground.

In July 2022, she transitioned to the Public Works Department as Assistant Director and later Deputy Director, overseeing important infrastructure initiatives such as road rehabilitation projects and the widening of Price Boulevard.

She is currently pursuing a doctorate in public administration from Valdosta University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

“Since stepping into the role of Interim Utilities Director in May, Tricia has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and an unwavering commitment to providing excellent service to our community,” City Manager Jerome Fletcher said. “I look forward with great confidence to all she will accomplish in her new role as Utilities Director.”

The Utilities Department is organized into five divisions: Administration, Engineering, Field Operations, Water Treatment, and Wastewater Treatment. In her new role, Wisner will oversee approximately 116 employees responsible for delivering reliable and sustainable utility services to North Port residents.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity to continue serving the people of North Port,” Wisner said. “This is an exciting time in the City’s history, and I look forward to leading our outstanding Utilities team as North Port grows.”

Her appointment is effective immediately.
