Fire Chief Scott Titus

Fire Chief Scott A. Titus is the Fire Chief. Scott began his firefighting career in 1990 with the Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department and transitioned to a full-time career firefighter when he was hired by the City of North Port Fire Rescue in 1993. During his career he has held positions as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Lieutenant, Minimum Standards Instructor for Nokomis Fire Academy and Sarasota County Technical Institute, Battalion Captain, and most recently, Deputy Chief of Emergency Services.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management with a focus on Public Safety and a Minor in Human Development from Eckerd College. Scott was selected by his peers and awarded the Firefighter of the Year award in 1998. He is currently a State Certified Firefighter and Paramedic; he holds Instructor III certification, Live Fire Instructor I certification, State of Florida Fire Officer I, and is a State-certified Arson Investigator I. Scott also holds Operational level certifications for the State certified Light Technical Rescue Team and teaches focused awareness and Firefighter Survival Operations.

Deputy Fire Chief Scott Lane

Deputy Chief Lane

Deputy Chief Scott A. Lane began his firefighting career in 1979 with the Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department and transitioned to a full-time Fire Chief at Nokomis in 1987 and served in that role for 17 years. In 2004 he became the Training Captain for the Englewood Area Fire Control District he was then promoted to Assistant Chief of Operations in2007 and served in that role until 2013 when he was promoted to Fire Chief where he served for six (6) years. He was hired by North Port Fire Rescue in April 2019 as the Deputy Chief of operations.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Fire Science from Columbia Southern University, Associates degree in Fire Science from the State College of Florida, Certified Fire protection Specialist, Chief Fire Office certification, State certified Fire Instructor II, State certified Fire Inspector, State certified Arson Investigator, State certified Fire Officer II, NFA Leadership I, II, & III, State certified EMT, FFCA ELSI graduate and numerous leadership certifications.

Deputy Fire Chief Nicholas Herlihy

Deputy Chief Herlihy

Deputy Chief Nick Herlihy started with NPFR in 2019 as Captain, then moved up to Division Chief, to his current position as Deputy Chief.

Chief Herlihy was born and raised in Sarasota County and has more than 20 years in the fire service. He spent most of his career in Manatee County where he worked his way up through the ranks to Captain. He was the training officer for fire department operations as well as the commander for the Manatee County Technical Rescue Team.

Nick is a certified Fire Officer III, Instructor II, Inspector II, Safety Officer and Florida Urban Search and Rescue (FLUSAR) specialist. Throughout his career he has been named Firefighter of Year, Fire Officer of the Year and Staff Employee of the Year.

Over the last decade, he has worked with a specialized team of instructors at the Florida State Fire College teaching techniques on high angle rope rescue, confined space and trench rescue, heavy vehicle and machinery extrication and structural collapse rescue to the United States Military.

Chief Herlihy and his wife, Sarah, have been married for 18 years and have four children.

Division Chief Brian Gorski

Division Chief Gorski

Division Chief Brian Gorski put in more than 30 years with Sarasota County Fire Department, moving up the ranks to Fire Chief before retiring in 2009. Most recently, Chief Gorski served as Fire Chief for Southern Manatee Fire Rescue District, retiring from the district in April of 2021.

Battalion Chief Famke Wolbers

Battalion Chief Wolbers

Battalion Chief Famke Wolbers began her career in the fire service in 2003 with the City of Winter Springs. She joined North Port Fire Rescue in 2005. Since then, she has progressed through the ranks of Firefighter, Lieutenant, and now Battalion Chief.  She also served as paramedic and journey worker. Battalion Chief Wolbers oversees emergency services medical training for the entire department. She is also involved in many aspects of the department including the Honor Guard, Live Fire Instructor, New Hire Orientation, Department Peer Training, protocol development, and technical rescue. 

BC Wolbers resides in Sarasota with her partner Jordan and her two children, Jaidyn and Anneke. 

Fire Marshal Peter Marietti III

Fire Marshal Marietti

Fire Marshal Peter Marietti is no stranger to the fire service. Born and raised in Rhode Island, Peter got his first taste of fire rescue experience while serving in the Navy. He was stationed in Earle, New Jersey on the USS Nitro. During his four years in the service, it was mandatory for personnel to learn firefighting, and he was hooked.

Soon after leaving the military, he started as a firefighter at the City of Warwick Fire Department in Rhode Island. During his 12 years on the line he had moved up to Lieutenant.

He then made the decision to transition to Fire Prevention. he spent 12 years in Fire Prevention, with the last 8 spent as Fire Marshal for the City of Warwick.

He was officially hired at the City in May 2017 as a Fire Prevention Officer, and after the Fire Marshal at the time took a job elsewhere, Peter moved into the position in October 2017.

Emergency Manager Stacy Aloisio

Emergency Manager Stacy Aloisio has been the Emergency Manager for the City of North Port, within the framework of North Port Fire Rescue, since August of 2023. Stacy came to the City of North Port after a career in healthcare and volunteering for a local search and rescue organization. She has been in Florida since 2018 when she began an internship with Brevard County Emergency Management before working full time for Lee County Emergency Management where she assisted with the COVID-19 response and the Hurricane Ian response and recovery. Stacy excels at fostering partnerships, public outreach and education, training and exercises and implementing lessons learned to create a strong program and a resilient community. 

 

District Chiefs

District Chief Josh Clements

District Chief Clements

District Chief Joshua Clements began his firefighting career in 2005 with the Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department before being hired by North Port Fire Rescue in 2008. He has held the rank of Firefighter/EMT, Paramedic, Journeyman, Lieutenant, and currently District Chief. He has been involved in multiple aspects of the organization, including but not limited to: Labor Management Committee member, Live Fire Instructor, Honor Guard member, New Hire Orientation Instructor, Peer Training Instructor, Technical Rescue Team member, as well as numerous committees. Joshua also previously instructed minimum standards at Englewood Fire Academy.

Chief Clements holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire and Emergency Services from the University of Florida with a specialization in Fire Department Management. He also currently holds certifications as a Fire Officer II, Instructor III, Life Fire Instructor I, and Incident Safety Officer. He has been recognized by his peers as North Port Fire Rescue’s 2015 Firefighter of the Year and 2020 Fire Officer of the Year. Joshua and his Wife Amber have been married since 2011 and have two beautiful children, Ashlyn, and Declan. His hobbies include river trips with his family, hunting, and Florida Gators Football.

District Chief Kyle Dent

District Chief Dent

District Chief Kyle Dent started his fire service career in 2003 as a volunteer with Sarasota County Fire Department. He joined North Port Fire Rescue in 2005. Since then, he has held the rank of Firefighter, EMT, Journeyman, Lieutenant and now District Chief. Kyle has been involved in various disciplines of the department to include Live Fire instructor, Peer Fitness Trainer and Lead instructor for New Hire Orientation committee. Kyle developed and is the lead instructor for the department’s Driver/Engineer program and serves as the department's Water Supply Officer. He is a published author of articles centered around water supply and water delivery. Kyle is the lead instructor teaching the State Hydraulics and Apparatus Operations classes hosted by North Port Fire Rescue. Kyle has been selected as Firefighter of the year and twice as Officer of the year.

Kyle has a wife and four children and enjoys spending every moment he is not at work, with them.

District Chief Dave Hawes

District Chief Dave Hawes began his fire service career with North Port Fire Rescue in 2006. Over the course of his career, he has held the rank of Firefighter/EMT, Firefighter/Paramedic, Lieutenant, and currently District Chief. Dave has been involved with many facets of the department’s training and volunteer activities throughout his career. He is an active member of the Honor Guard, a certified Peer Fitness Trainer for Firefighters, Peer Support Team member focusing on mental wellness, New Hire Orientation Instructor, Live Fire Training Instructor, and Fire Rescue ICS and IAP coordinator for large City of North Port events.

Chief Hawes holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Public Safety Administration from Florida Southwestern State College. Dave is also credentialed by the Center for Public Safety Excellence with the Fire Officer Designation. He is certified as an Instructor III, Fire Officer II, Live Fire Training Instructor I, and Incident Safety Officer. Dave and his wife have been married since 2004 and have two beautiful daughters. He enjoys running, hiking, and traveling.

District Chief Dave Ingalls

District Chief Ingalls

Dave began with North Port Fire Rescue in 2000 as a Firefighter/EMT, after serving nine years with Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department. Over the past 22 years, Dave has held the rank of FF/EMT, Paramedic, Lieutenant, Battalion Chief, Captain and now District Chief.

He is a member of the Technical Rescue Team and an educator with the Juvenile Fire Setters Education Program. Dave has also served as Board Member of the North Port Firefighters Benevolent Association since its inception in 2007. He has also trained firefighter recruits as an instructor at Sarasota County Technical Institute's Fire Science Academy.

His certifications and training include an associate’s degree in Fire Science, Paramedic, Fire Officer I, Instructor II, CPR & ACLS Instructor, Youth Fire-setter Prevention & Intervention I & II, Pump Operator, and Emergency Services Leadership Institute.

Dave has also been recognized by his peers as North Port Fire Rescue's 2005 Firefighter of the Year, 2009 Officer of the Year, and 2020 Staff Employee of the Year.

District Chief Casey Kelch

District Chief Kelch

District Chief Casey Kelch is a 15-year veteran of North Port Fire Rescue. Chief Kelch has held the rank of Firefighter, EMT, Paramedic, Journeyman, Lieutenant, and currently District Chief. Chief Kelch resides in North Port with his wife Kristina, a local Principal, and his son Liam. He is involved in many aspects of the Department including: Honor Guard member, Lead Live Fire Instructor, New Hire Orientation, Department Peer Training, and various committees within the Department. District Chief Kelch enjoys fishing, traveling, and travel baseball with his son.

District Chief John Waligora

District Chief Waliora

Chief Waligora began his career at North Port Fire Rescue in 1989 at the age of 19. Through the course of his career he promoted to Firefighter / Paramedic in 1992, Lieutenant / Paramedic in 2004, Battalion Chief in 2018, and District Chief in 2021. He has been awarded Firefighter of the Year, Officer of the Year, and multiple Phoenix Awards from North Port Fire Rescue. Additionally, he was awarded the prestigious Herb Kimbal Award for “Action Above And Beyond The Call Of Duty” by the Association of Florida EMS Providers for rescuing a construction worker who fell 35 feet underground into a confined space. Chief Waligora is currently assigned as a District Chief on “C” Shift as well as being a Chief Officer on our Technical Rescue Team.

Chief Waligora holds an A.S. Degree in Fire Science Technology from Valencia College. He is a graduate of the Emergency Services Leadership Institute as well as being internationally credentialed as a Fire Officer by the Center for Public Safety Excellence. He also holds multiple instructor certifications and has taught both locally and nationally. Additionally, he is a certified Public Safety Diver, Incident Safety Officer, and a FEMA Strike Team / Task Force Leader.

One of the many highlights of his career was getting to serve for a week in New York City following the attacks on 9/11.

Chief Waligora is a proud "dog daddy" and his hobbies include mountain biking and indulging in his culinary delights.
