Department Projects

Shop With a Cop

The Police Department hosts the annual Shop with a Cop each December. Throughout the year, the department raises funds through employee drives, donations and more. Each year the program helps more than six-dozen children have a brighter holiday for them and their families.

Operation Santa Surprise

The North Port Florida Police Department team up with local businesses and donors to help make the holidays brighter for families. Each year the program does something a little different. It might be a secret shopper looking for help and then providing some. It could be helping families dealing with and suffering from cancer. It's a surprise that warms your heart!

The North Port Police Department is launching a new Special Needs Assessment Program (SNAP). The program allows residents and their families who have special needs to provide our first responders with additional information. It can help us respond and interact appropriately. This includes Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Alzheimer’s or Dementia, Epilepsy or Seizure Disorder, Autism, Diabetic, and more.

Those who sign up will also receive stickers that can be placed on vehicles and/or homes which can help first responders in an emergency or non-emergency situation.

Individuals who are interested in the NPPD Special Needs Assessment Program will need to complete an application form. You can inquire at Snap@northportpdfl.gov.
