Finance team wins prestigious award for 19th year running

The City’s Finance Department has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the current fiscal period. This award represents the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting, and North Port has earned it for 19 consecutive years.

The award reflects the City's and staff's commitment to upholding the highest principles of governmental budgeting. The GFOA provides best practices, professional development, resources and practical research for its members in government finance.

The City also received special recognition for the Capital Program.

“Our Finance team’s 19-year run of awards demonstrates a consistent commitment to managing resources responsibly,” said Finance Director Irina Kukharenko. “Their hard work and perseverance have rightfully earned this honor, and I’m truly proud of each team member’s vital role in achieving this success.”
