Get outside for National Park RX Day
Published on April 07, 2026
The City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department invites the community to step outside and enjoy a guided nature walk during National Park RX Day on Saturday, April 25 from 9 to 11 a.m. along the Myakkahatchee Creek Greenway Trail. The walk will begin at the entrance on Appomattox Drive and North Port Boulevard.
As more health professionals highlight the connection between time outdoors and overall well-being, National Park RX Day encourages people of all ages to explore parks and natural spaces as a simple, effective way to support both physical and mental health.
Whether you are looking to recharge, connect with nature or try something new, participants are encouraged to join this uplifting outdoor experience. The walk offers an opportunity to slow down, enjoy the surroundings and discover how time in nature can improve mood, reduce stress and support a healthier lifestyle. The experience will also include an instructor-led meditation by Marina Bosner, helping participants connect with nature while building skills for stress relief.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a friend, a water bottle and a sense of adventure. All ages are welcome.
