Summer fun starts here: Summer Camp Round Up set for Jan. 31

Families are invited to get a head start on summer planning during the City of North Port’s Summer Camp Registration Round Up on Jan. 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way. Hosted by the Parks & Recreation Department, this annual event provides families with a personalized experience, the opportunity to ask questions, and receive immediate confirmation of registration.
North Port’s Summer Camp programs offer safe, engaging and enriching experiences for children and teens entering grades 1 through 8. Based on grade level, participants will enroll in either GMAC Summer Camp or Teen Xtreme Camp. Both programs run from June 1 through Aug. 7, 2026, with no camp held on June 19 or July 3.
Teen Xtreme Camp, Grades 6–8 Teen Xtreme Camp is designed for students entering grades 6 through 8 and takes place at the Morgan Family Community Center, located at 6207 W. Price Blvd. Camp hours are 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and the weekly cost is $105.
GMAC Summer Camp, Grades 1–5 Children entering grades 1 through 5 can enjoy a full day of activities at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way. Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and costs $90 per week.
Both camps offer Early and After Care for $15 per week per child for either option, or $30 per week per child for both.
Youth Scholarship Program A limited number of scholarships are available through the Youth Scholarship Program to help offset weekly camp fees. Scholarships are based on eligibility and available funding. Applications and donation information can be found at NorthPortFL.gov/YouthScholarship.
Registration Details Camp registration opens Jan. 31 and must be completed in person at the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way. Beginning on Feb. 2, parents may register their child at either the George Mullen Activity Center or Morgan Family Community Center (1607 W. Price Blvd.) during regular business hours. Counselor-In-Training Program Hey teens! Are you entering high school and interested in gaining hands-on experience and earning community volunteer hours? Apply for the Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program at GMAC Summer Camp. CITs assist with daily activities while receiving practical training for future camp roles. The cost is $25 per week and includes training, supervision, T-shirts and field trips. Registration opens March 2 and is available by application and interview only.
