Grab your little ghosts and goblins and get ready for a spooky good time at the upcoming Trick or Treat at City Center, presented by Suncoast Credit Union! This event will be held on Oct. 24 from 5–8 p.m. Those looking for a low-sensory offering can join us at 4:30 p.m. to enjoy the displays without loud music or flashing lights while trick or treating. Admission and parking are free. Food vendors will also be on site with items available for purchase.

Visit the Pumpkin Trail along the City Center Front Green to collect treats from City departments, local businesses and nonprofit organizations. Afterward, enjoy tasty options from our food vendors. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Costumes are encouraged, and the first 150 participants will receive a trick-or-treat bag provided by GEICO Local Office of North Port. Please note that alcohol is prohibited.

TRAFFIC PLAN
To ensure a safe and timely entrance and exit for the event, the following traffic plan has been established by the City of North Port Police Department, Fire Rescue Department, Public Works Department, and the Parks & Recreation Department.

PARKING
Free parking is available at the following locations:

  1. Morgan Family Community Center, 6207 W. Price Blvd. A complimentary shuttle will be available from 5:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to and from the Morgan Family Community Center to the City Center Campus. We encourage attendees to take advantage of this service to help decrease congestion around the event site.
  2. The City Hall (parking lot A), located at 4970 City Hall Blvd. This roadway will also be used for shuttle drop-off and pick-up.
  3. George Mullen Activity Center parking areas (parking lot B and C). Please enter from City Center Boulevard. The section of Kramer Way between City Hall and the Activity Center will be closed to vehicle traffic; however, the parking lots remain accessible via City Center Boulevard.
  4. Walmart Neighborhood Market on Sumter Boulevard is generously sponsoring additional parking spaces for event attendees. We kindly ask that guests avoid using the spaces reserved for online order pick-up, as vehicles parked in those spots may be subject to towing.
  5. In addition, we thank Command and Control Construction for sponsoring overflow parking, located at the available lot off Price Boulevard, adjacent to The Gallery. Attendees are encouraged to use this location if primary event parking areas reach capacity. Clear signage will direct drivers, and the lot is within convenient walking distance of the City Center Campus.

TRAFFIC FLOW

Safety is our priority. Vehicles parked in the city hall lots will be required to enter and exit using City Hall Boulevard to Sumter. Vehicles parked in the George Mullen Activity Center parking lots will be required to enter and exit using City Center Boulevard to Sumter Boulevard. To allow for a safe entrance and exit from the event, the following traffic plan will be followed:

  • Starting at 9 p.m. on Oct. 23, all traffic on both sides of the City Center Front Green, Rue Berryman Street and Main Street will be closed for the event. Please plan appropriately for drop-off or pick-up of event attendees. Road closures will impact access to the event site Oct. 24.
  • At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Oct. 24, all closed roads will be reopened once event traffic has dispersed.
  • As part of the Price Boulevard closure, traffic is detoured utilizing Salford Boulevard, U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail), and Sumter Boulevard. Signs are placed throughout the detour route to direct drivers.
