Through the George Mullen Activity Center and the Morgan Family Community Center, North Port Parks & Recreation offers a variety of fitness programs and activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. Whether you're a beginner at the gym, don't have much fitness knowledge, or just enjoy working out with accountability buddies, group fitness classes may be your solution. Joining a class can help build a foundation and structure that you can use to fuel your personal health journey for years to come. Parks & Recreation offers a variety of group exercise classes to meet your needs.

Achieve Anything Fitness Membership
Achieve your goals with an Achieve Anything Membership
The North Port Parks & Recreation Department offers the "Achieve Anything" membership(PDF, 5MB) to promote a healthy lifestyle and enhance body and mind. Whether it’s visiting one of our fitness centers or participating in select activities, membership is full of opportunities at an affordable rate.
Membership benefits
- Deep discounts of over 84% from the non-member daily drop-in fee
- Free admission to open gym, volleyball, indoor soccer, and pickleball
- Free admission to the Morgan Center’s teen room and game room
- Free membership orientation
Options & costs
- Both North Port residents and non-residents can enjoy the benefits of being a member.
- Memberships are available in one and 12-month duration's for individuals over 18, families, veteran and senior memberships.
- Youth (ages 11-17) and Student (ages 18-25 with school I.D.) memberships are available on an annual basis only.
- All annual memberships excluding the Youth membership have affordable installment billing options. All billing installments are billed at the beginning of each quarter (January, April, July, October). Termination of a reoccurring payment authorization for an Achieve Anything Membership requires notification 15 days prior to the next billing.
- Proof of residency includes a drivers license, State ID, North Port Utilities bill, a rental agreement, an FPL bill, and school registration forms.

D-Fy Membership
Drug Free Youth is an initiative for youth in grade 6th-12th to commit to being drug, alcohol, and tobacco free. Membership in D-Fy provides youth with a complimentary Achieve Anything membership. D-Fy is currently held at the Morgan Family Community Center on a monthly basis during the school year, from 2:30-5:30 p.m. A signed parent/guardian waiver is required. TXR Bootcamp
Start you New Year off right! This four-week session combines suspension training with weights and bursts of cardio while focusing on strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability in a 45-minute session.

Fit-Teen University
Elevate your teen fitness savvy with our specialized training class. Learn exercise basics, safety, gym etiquette, and equipment use. Ages 13-15 gain gym independence after completion, Classes are offered on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Call 941-429-PARK (7275) to register.

Youth Boxing Class
The class teaches the fundamentals of boxing along with the work ethic and discipline of the sport. Participants will gain improvement in both physical and mental strength.

Adult Boxing Class
The Parkinson's Boxing class will empower participants while developing their balance and lighting quick combinations. The class is based on two basic principals: footwork and combinations, and includes everything from jumping rope and punching bags, to tossing medicine balls.

Yogatology
Joyful, gentle movements using techniques from Yoga, Tai Chi and ballet to improve flexibility, balance and coordination, particularly of the body's core. Standing and seated (no floor work). Positivity is inspiring. First class free to new participants.

The City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department is seeking new program and/or class proposals! We are looking for creative individuals who are interested in sharing their specialized skills to provide instructional services that promote healthy lifestyles, providing class participants with the chance to gain new skills and enjoy cultural enrichment.
To get started, print the documents below for information on the application process, deadlines, and required forms. A Vendor Information Packet and W-9 will be provided with an official Instructor Agreement. Contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 941-429-PARK(7275) for additional information.
