Trash and Recycling

The City's Solid Waste Division is a part of the Public Works Department. You may submit the request form for Solid Waste containers to be delivered or contact Public Works Customer Service team for details at (941) 240-8050.

The Development Services Department continually strives to make improvements for the citizens of North Port. 

Staff accepts permit applications and all of the other forms necessary to satisfy the requirements of construction codes. Communication between the Building Division and builders is the key to obtaining the required items for code compliance, especially considering the time constraints and other issues facing the builder or homeowner.

The City Commission appoints advisory boards and committees composed of citizens qualified to act in an advisory capacity. Their duties are to consult, advise and make written recommendations which become part of City records. The members of board and committee serve without compensation, and at the pleasure of the City Commission.

The Sarasota County Property Appraiserhas office hours in City Hall various times throughout the month.

How do I find the local U.S. Post Office?

The U.S. Post Office is located at 4975 City Hall Boulevard, North Port, FL 34286. They can be reached at 941-429-6730.

 

I have kids. Who can I talk to about local schools?

The Sarasota County School District can answer questions related to school enrollment. Call them at (941) 927-9000.

 

How do I register to vote?

The Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections has an office in North Port. For details, call them at (941) 423-9540.

 

Are there watering restrictions in my neighborhood?

North Port Utilities provides information related to water conservation and watering restrictions. Call (941) 429-7122 to speak with a customer representative.

 

I'm a veteran. Where can I find services?

North Port veterans and members of their families who need assistance, information and advice regarding benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs are encouraged to meet with Sarasota County Veterans Services.
